3 stars – I liked it

Razr is an angel who is being punished by Heaven. He is forced to work in Sheoul-Gra and won’t have his freedom until he finds the missing Gems of Enoch. What he doesn’t expect is to fall for the beautiful Gem Elf, Jedda who is the current holder of one of the stones.

I enjoyed Jedda and Razr’s story. It was a bit different from previous books because it introduces a new paranormal species, Gem Elves. Gem Elves are quite fascinating because they need gems to survive.  I really enjoyed learning more about them, and how they are a part of this paranormal world. Jedda was a great heroine. She was smart and witty, with a soft side that I liked. I also liked how she didn’t take shit from any man and wasn’t afraid to shove a gem up someone’s ass if they deserved it.

Razr has had a rough time since the Gems were stolen. He was imprisoned, released and had his wings and magic bound, forced to work for Azagoth, experiences daily torture, and expected to find the missing gems. I felt bad for him because he definitely got dealt a bad hand from the archangels. Jedda and Razr’s relationship was quick and steamy. They couldn’t keep their hands off each other, even after Razr found out the truth.

Overall, I enjoyed this story. I liked how it expanded the Demonica world and brought new characters into the light. Bring on the next story!
