4 stars – It was really good

Azagoth, also known as the Grim Reaper, is tired of following Heaven’s rules. He makes an ultimatum, give him a mate or he will turn against them. What he doesn’t expect is to fall completely in love with Lilliana.

I have been fascinated by Azagoth since he was introduced. Azagoth seems like an emotionless man who is dedicated to his job or reaping demons, but you quickly learn that isn’t the truth. He doesn’t really like his job but he will do it because someone has to. He also is very emotional, even too emotional at times. I really loved watching him open up to Lilliana and embracing his emotions again. I love a character who is secretly very caring and emotional but hides it behind a wall, or in this case, a demonic form.

Lilliana was a naive angel in a way. She was fine doing her job for centuries but after being kidnapped everything changes for her. She is given the ultimatum of mating Azagoth or giving up her abilities. I liked Lilliana, especially once she opened up and started showing her sense of humor. She does make a few mistakes with Azagoth but she works it out in the end.

This is just the beginning of Azagoth and Lilliana’s relationship but it was a great start. I can’t wait to see how their relationship progresses in the future. Also, how they change Sheoul-gra and the fallen angel’s lives.
