4 stars – It was really good

Hades has spent thousands of years serving as the Jailor of the Underworld. When uprisings start happening, Hades finds the fallen angel Cataclysm at the center of them. Now he has to fight his attraction to her as they deal with getting control back in the Underworld.

Hades has been a character that I have wanted to know more about since he was introduced. He is a fallen angel with a mohawk and he doesn’t really like to wear a shirt, so of course I wanted to know more. Hades has spent thousands of years as a jailor in punishment for his past transgressions. I really liked Hades once he started to open up. He may have messed up in the past but he has turned his life around, at least as far as Azagoth and his position will let him anyways. Hades may be evil but he also has quite a bit of good in him too, which I liked.

“I need you. I burn for you.”

Cataclysm is a relatively new unfallen angel. She was kicked out for helping Gethel before anyone realized she was evil. She works for Azagoth in exchange for protection from the Fallen Angels who have been dragging unfallen into Hell to turn them. Cat was a great character. She was curious about life outside heaven, fun, hard work, and very very clumsy. Cat has good intentions but that doesn’t always land her in safe waters, which we can see in this book.

Cat and Hades’ relationship was filled with a lot of steamy scenes. They have a ton of chemistry, it’s just working through other issues that get in the way. This is definitely an insta-love relationship, like a lot of them are in this series, but I really enjoyed it. Overall, this may have been a quick story but it was a great addition to the series. I really want more now.
