3 stars – I liked it

Tylene McClaine is the black sheep of her family’s pack. She just wants to do her own thing but her parents are determined to dictate her life for her. After she meets music teacher and vampire, Alex Bonfils, Tylene starts to realize if she wants to be happy she needs to make some big changes in her life.

This was an interesting one because it’s the first werewolf romance since Darlene and Zeb’s in the Jane Jameson series. While I did like Tylene, she was also a bit of a pushover through most of this book. She lets her family push her around and almost lets them ruin her life. I liked seeing her gain confidence in her life and finally do the right thing for her.

Alex was a sweet vampire. I like that he spent his years on earth doing what he loved and is now using that love to teach kids music. He was very cute with the kids. I enjoyed Alex and Tylene’s relationship, even when they were putting barriers between them. Their enemy in this book wasn’t very intense or scary, but I still enjoyed it.

Overall, this was a great addition to the Half-Moon Hollow series.  I love that we finally got a story from a werewolves perspective and hope to see more wolves in future stories. Also, I love the found family scenes with Jane and Dick in the bookstore. They really are great background characters.

Content Warnings: Heroine goes on a date with someone else after going on a date with Alex.
