Before you find yourself stranded in the woods with a cranky apex predator, ask yourself: Do I really want to go on a camping trip with a vampire? The answer is probably going to be no.  – Where the Wild Things Bite: A Survival Guide for Camping with the Undead

Anna Winthrop is tasked with delivering a rare book back to its owner Jane in Half-Moon Hollow. What she doesn’t expect is someone trying to steal it or for her plane to crash. Which is how she finds herself stuck with Finn Palmeroy in the middle of the wilderness.

This was an interesting and action packed adventure. Anna started out being a high strung, anxiety ridden woman whose brain is always thinking of the worst case scenarios but by the end she is a strong woman who isn’t trapped by her anxiety. While I initially found her a little annoying, Anna grew on me as she lost her worries. As an archivist, I loved her dedication to history and rare books.

Finn was introduced in the previous story as Libby’s sire. He is a shady character like Dick was, but not as likable in my opinion. Finn was a character that I have mixed feelings about. He was sweet to Anna at times but he did also hurt her. He does redeem himself in the end of this book but it is still hard for me to envision these two with a HEA. Hopefully, they will appear in future books and change my mind.

Overall, this was still an enjoyable lost in the woods paranormal romance. I really love seeing Jane and Dick as part of the Vampire Council, especially since they react so differently from previous council members.

Trigger Warnings: Anxiety and agoraphobia. Anna’s mother also had extreme anxiety and agoraphobia about what would happen and was extremely controlling of her life.
