5 stars – I loved it!

This book should be read after reading In the Blood

Alexei and Sean are still healing from their brief stints as prisoners of war. Sean is struggling with the PTSD and mental blocks that are preventing him from letting Alexei close again. After three months, they are finally being let back into the field but will they get over the past.

This was an emotional novella with Alexei and Sean struggling to overcome what happened to them. Sean really is struggling and I love that we got so much time in his head to understand his thinking. Alexei was great with Sean. He never gives up and just keeps telling him how much he loves him and that it wasn’t his fault.

The mission may have seemed like it was a little soon to be happening but it seemed to be just what they both needed. It helped Sean realize he was ready to move on and let Alexei back in. It was just very sweet watching them finally work through this trauma and become close again.
