5 stars – I loved it!

Trigger Warnings: on page graphic torture, death of a child

Wow, what an emotional book! This book picks up shortly after the previous book ended. The team is continuing the MDF mission of bringing down the terrorists working together to set off Splice bombs. Jamie is still dealing with his fathers political campaign when all he wants to do is be with Kyle and his team.

This book is slightly different from previous ones because it jumps perspectives between the two couples now, Jamie and Kyle and Sean and Alexei. The mission quickly becomes dangerous and almost deadly for some of the team members in this one. It was very emotional and intense and at times really hard to read. I came close to crying because it was so emotional at times.

While this book does cover very difficult topics, it was an action packed continuation of this story. I couldn’t put the book down, even when I came close to crying. But not all of the stuff that happened was heartbreaking in this one, there were some great happy moments too.  This is definitely a turning point in this series with both the mission and the team’s personal lives. I am very interested in seeing what is going to happen next.
