4 stars – It was really good

King Gayel Solann-Eon has decided to take a Terran as his bride, but instead finds himself attracted to the Space Corps officer in charge of the bride’s security. He is determined to win over Captain Alea Rodriguez, but first they have to deal with the Kantos.

This was a great ending to this series. I really enjoyed Gayel and Alea’s story. King Gayel is a smart, fair, and protective king. He really cares for his people and his allies. Alea is a dedicated officer and has spent her life dedicated to helping people. I loved how deadly and protective she was. She never backed down and was always determined to win against her enemies. They both have a lot of responsibilities and both of them accepted that and worked their relationship around them, which I loved.

These two had a very action packed adventure with the Kantos attacks from the very beginning. As always with this series, I find the Kantos  creations to be fascinating and also a bit terrifying, and that holds true in this book. The war with the Kantos finally comes to an end in this and it was a very satisfying ending I think.

Overall, this was a great action packed romance and I really think these two will make a great couple. I am sad that this is the end of this series, but I am excited for the next series from Anna Hackett which will be about the Oronis Knights, who were very interesting in this book, especially their Queen.

Trigger Warnings: references of child abuse.
