4 stars – It was really good

When Nassir is tasked with protecting a scholar from the Refuge he doesn’t expect to find his mate. But now that he has found her he refuses to let her go but first they have to find a sleeping archangel and wake him.

Nassir is one of my favorite vampires so I was extremely glad to finally get to his story. He may be a wild and unique person but he definitely deserves love too. Andromeda was a surprisingly great heroine. I liked her from the very beginning. She was smart, courageous, and was also deadly when she needed to be. She is the perfect partner for Nassir because she accepts him for who he is and understands his wild nature. I really enjoyed Nassir’s courtship of Andi. I loved that he refused to break her vow and that he went to great lengths, including returning to his painful past, to help her not break it.

A lot happens in this book alongside their relationship. Lujian is striking out again and causing problems. Alexander has risen and now there are two ancient Archangels who have awoken. But the most interesting thing that I think that happened in the last half of this book was the changes with Illium. It will be very interesting to see how that plays out.

Overall, this was a great addition to this series. Nassir and Andi had a great relationship and I can’t wait to see how it will grow in future books. Also I really can’t wait to see the upcoming battle against Luijan.
