The Gift by Lynsay Sands

This was a fantastic little story featuring a prominent human side character in the series, Sheriff Teddy. Teddy takes a holiday vacation to the Wilan sister’s cabin but finds himself snowed in and falling for his vampire neighbor.

It was about time that Teddy got his own story because he has been a prominent side character for a while now and all of his friends have been turned. Katricia Argeneau, aka Tricia, was a great heroine and I loved how sassy she was. She didn’t let Teddy get all manly on her or push her away because of the appearance of an age difference. Their romance felt pretty well developed considering it was a pretty short story.

Overall, I enjoyed this a lot, especially since it felt like a complete story. I am so glad Teddy finally found a mate and that he is getting a second chance on life.

Home for the Holidays by Jeaniene Frost

Cat and Bones try to have a nice holiday with their friends but instead find themselves under the thrall of a demon. This was a very interesting story because vampires are supposed to be safe from demons but there are circumstances that work in the demon’s favor. I enjoyed the hunt to bring the demon down, even if it was a bit sad for Bones. Also, the family revelations in this were interesting.
