5 stars – I loved it!

Trigger Warnings:  Forced outing and initial prejudice and non-acceptance.

Prince Sebastian is trying to hide his secret life as the fabulous Lady Crystallia, who is known as Paris’s hottest fashion icon. His secret weapon is his best friend and brilliant dressmaker Frances.

This was an incredibly sweet and wholesome comic! Prince Sebastian struggles with the weight of his royal crown and being himself. He wants to wear dresses and be fashionable, but also still be the prince sometimes. Sebastian really struggles with his fear of anyone finding out and the urge to be his true self. It was all very emotional, and at times very heartbreaking.

Frances and Sebastian’s relationship is wonderful. I love how supportive Frances was from the very beginning. She never questioned his feelings or went out of her way to make him feel more comfortable with himself. I just loved their friendship and how it led to romance.

Overall, this was an adorable, sweet, and very emotional graphic novel. The artwork was beautiful, especially for this historical world with beautiful ball gowns and suits. I wish there was a sequel to this because I want more of Frances and Sebastian’s story.
