4 stars – It was really good

It’s been fourteen months since aliens invaded and started stealing women. Gabriel Storme and his GEOX team are determined to fight back and defeat the aliens, but first he has to rescue a group of women who were taken.

When I saw a fellow review discuss this post-apocalypse story I knew I needed to add this to my TBR. Well it’s only a few days later and I am so glad I didn’t wait to read this story. I loved Gabriel and Eva’s story. It was action packed, harrowing, and very emotional. Basically, everything I love in a post-apocalypse romance.

Gabriel was a great leader and a great hero. I really loved watching him struggle to protect Eva but also let her fight against the aliens. Eva was a kickass heroine who I instantly loved. She wasn’t afraid to fight or sacrifice herself for others. These two had an instant love relationship, which would most likely be normal in a world where there isn’t a guarantee you will have a tomorrow. It was still an emotional and powerful relationship and I loved every minute of it.

This was a very interesting alien species, and very terrifying for what they wanted to do. The whole alien hierarchy was fascinating and I can’t wait to learn more about it in future books. This is my first J. R. Pace book but I really enjoyed her writing. It was the perfect blend of action and romance. I can’t wait to jump into the next book and learn more about this team and the aliens.

Trigger Warnings: forced experimentation and impregnation of human women; forced birth resulting in death of the mother in Chapter 2.
