Title: Sawyer’s Mistake
Author: J. R. Pace
Series: Grim Reapers #2
Pages: 162

Jake Sawyer, the GEOX team’s second-in-command, is determined to ignore his attraction to Saoirse. But when they fall into a dangerous situation, Sawyer realizes he can no long hide his feelings.
This book picks up shortly after the previous book. The team is on their way to find the Pangea group but run into a few issues along the way. These issues mostly started with Saoirse making very bad choices that lead to danger. She was my biggest issue in this book. I don’t understand how someone can be so naïve to evil people when they are surrounded by aliens and alien slaves.
Like with the first book, this was a wonderful blend of action, danger, and romance. Jake was a good second-in-command but I wish he would have been more assertive with Saoirse when she was doing something stupid. Their relationship was surprisingly sweet. I really enjoyed how Jake took care of Saoirse and discussed consent with her. This was a very mild dom/sub relationship though.
Overall, this was a good sequel. This one does end on a cliffhanger though, so I am dying to know what happens next now. Thankfully I don’t have to wait for the next book.
