3 stars – I liked it

In the Alaskan wilds, something is leaving carnage in its wake. Bush pilot Alexandra Maguire, recognizes the carnage from the horrific events from her childhood but doesn’t understand what it means until Kade arrives.

Kade and Alex instantly hit it off but Alex does struggle to let Kade in at first. Kade did keep things close to his chest though and I think that is why I didn’t love him as much as I have the previous heroes. I did enjoy how sweet Kade was with Alex though since he is a very walled off character.

I am really enjoying the direction of this series. It is a fascinating world with unique vampires and characters. The ending with the ancient felt a little anticlimactic in my opinion but I do wonder if there will be more to it in the next book. I am very interested in seeing how the next book will go and what is going on with Alex’s friend, Jenna.
