Title: Desert Rose
Author: Anna Lowe
Series: The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch #5
Pages: 172

Axel Waldermann’s days at the Twin Moon Ranch are numbered. The last thing he needs is the temptation of a cute she-wolf, especially since it might mess up the fragile alliance between the shifter clans. But Axel can’t ignore Beth Carter for long, and neither can she.
After the javelina shifters were introduced in previous books, I was interested in learning more about them. Axel was a very sweet but big guy who is taking this opportunity not only to heal, but to enjoy his time as a human. As a javelina shifter, he spends months in his animal form and this is the first time in years he has been a human for so long.
Beth is the ranch librarian and early education teacher. She is instantly attracted to Axel but tries to ignore it because she doesn’t think anyone would be interested in boring old her. While Beth was a quiet one, we quickly see she has a heart of steel and isn’t afraid to fight for what she wants.
Beth and Axel had a great story that I was hooked on from the very beginning. Also I really like how this ranch is shaping up to be a really welcoming and protective community. It’s great seeing all the changes to this pack and how much healthier it seems. I hope we get to meet more shifters within this world in future books now because I enjoyed this one a lot.
