5 stars – I loved it!

This was another adorable Garlic graphic novel!

Garlic is growing up, learning magic, traveling, and becoming more human. In this Garlic is learning that change is scary but also a part of growing up. Even fun adventures can be scary but also necessary to grow. This was just a great story to convey that growing up is scaring but can also be a exciting thing.

I really love this fantastic world that Paulsen has created with vegetable people, witches, and vampires. It is just adorable and beautifully illustrated.
