Ginger has returned to Fairhaven Falls after her family left suddenly when she was 18. She never wanted to leave, especially not Howard “Houston” Ironman. Now she needs his help but is afraid to tell him the truth about why she is hiding in Fairhaven Falls and why she originally left. 

Ginger and Howard’s story was another enjoyable Fairhaven Falls fated mates story. These two both had feelings for each other when they were young and now they are getting their second chance to actually have a relationship. Ginger was a smart woman but she needs to stop trying to do everything herself. If she had just told her brother what was happening or told Howard the truth from the beginning things would have been so much easier for her. While I do think she was being a bit ridiculous in her determination to keep secrets, I still liked her overall.

Howard was a sweet and protective minotaur who really is a great mayor. He really cares for his community and his family. I loved his family so much, especially his mom. Howard and Ginger’s relationship was a fake relationship but Howard knows front he beginning that she is his fated mate and spends the whole time treating it like it’s real. I enjoyed their relationship, even the dreaded third act breakup was understandable after Ginger’s failure to tell the truth. 

Overall, this was another enjoyable Fairhaven Falls book. My only real complaint was that the evil Donald and the merger issue was a bit anticlimactic but it was fine.  I am really enjoying these books and look forward to reading the next one.
