4 stars – It was really good

When Ruby’s father steals ore from the fox shifters den he finds himself cursed with a bunch of foul mouthed talking weapons, which is not good for a blacksmith. Now Ruby has to apologize to the fox to see if he will remove the curse, but he won’t be swayed by a simple apology. Instead she has to be his fake mate for a week-long Winter Festival.

This was a hilarious and short novella that takes place after demons are free and are starting to spread out in the world again. Ruby is a blacksmith’s daughter who never expects to find love but will take a weeks worth of pleasure from the sexy fox shifter Lucca. Instead she finds herself falling for Lucca as the week goes by and he for her. While this was a very quick story, I really enjoyed these two and their romance. It was wonderful to see more of this world, especially about the demons and their customs.

My favorite part of this story was probably Alexis the sword though. I freaking loved her. She starts as just a foul mouthed sword but ends up being such a great friend and supportive character that Lucca just couldn’t just get rid of her. I really hope she appears again in this series because she was a hoot.

Overall, while extremely short, this was a wonderful addition to this series. I really hope we get more little novellas set in this universe because I am loving this world and series.
