Review: Jujutsu Kaisen Volumes 7 and 8 by Gege Akutami

Title: Jujutsu Kaisen Vol. 7: The Origin of Obedience

Author: Gege Akutami

Series: Jujutsu Kaisen Ch. 53-61

Pages: 192

4 stars out of five
4 stars – It was really good

This volume concludes the Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill event with a baseball game then leads into Yuji, Nobara, and Fushiguro being given a mission. With this mission we finally get to learn more about Fushiguro and some of his backstory. We also see him really step up in his abilities and not back down. Yuji and Nobara are fighting their own battle and really show how ruthless they can be, especially Nobara. Nobara is a badass and I love how crazy she is.

Title: Jujutsu Kaisen Vol. 8: Hidden Inventory

Series: Jujutsu Kaisen Ch. 62-70

4 stars – It was really good

This volume starts with Yuji, Nobara, and Fushiguro being recommended to Grade 1 Sorcerer by the other students, and Nobara and Fushiguro trying to set Yuji up with a lady that likes him. The volume then jumps back in time to Gojo as a student getting a mission to protect the Star Plasma Vessel of Master Tengen with his friend Suguru Geto. It was cool to see a teenage Gojo and more of what he can do with his abilities. I wasn’t expecting the cliffhanger at the end of this one though.
