Title: Mystified in Music City
Author: Kristen Painter
Series: Frost & Crowe Mystery #3
Pages: 260

Jayne and Sinclair are back in solving another mystery, this one in Nashville, Tennessee. After touching an item in the Country Music Hall of Fame Sinclair finds himself possessed by the spirit of an Elvis tribute artist, which leads them to spending their time in Nashville solving a murder mystery.
While I really enjoy Sin and Jayne and the many scraps they seem to find themselves in, this one fell a bit flat for me. I knew going into this that Jayne was pregnant but I sadly felt like this fact overshadowed the actual mystery. It felt like every other sentence was about her pregnancy, even Sinclair’s portions, and at times it felt like the mystery was getting left behind because of it. Also food is constantly being talked about or eaten in this book so be warned that you will definitely end up hungry while reading this.
The mystery in this one was slow and got buried under Sin and Jayne being tourists, eating, their pregnancy, and the exhaustion of being possessed. While the murder mystery was slow and buried under everything else, I still enjoyed it. I do think Jayne and Sin were very slow in considering all the possible perpetrators though but it worked out. Overall, this was an ok mystery but a lot of Jayne and Sin being a wonderful couple and playing tourists.
