Title: Darius
Author: J. R. Ward
Series: Black Dagger Brotherhood #0.5
Pages: 320

It’s always hard when you go into a story that you know ends in tragedy, but Ward somehow did an amazing job at making this not centered around loss but love. Darius is one of the most important characters in this series, even if he has barely been a part of the series. He set into motion everything that makes the Brotherhood what it is currently.
Darius’s story was tragic but also filled with love. He found his mate and experienced true love for the first time. He makes a mistake and loses her but gets a daughter out of it. I really loved getting Darius’s story and seeing how he worked so hard to take care of the Brotherhood. He truly loved his brothers and his mate, Anne. The epilogue was also very sweet and emotional to finally see him let go and join his shellren in the Fade. It will be interesting to see if this impacts John in the future too.
Also, I love Fritz and just want to give him all the tasks to make him happy
Trigger Warnings: Death of main character in childbirth; on page car accident; death of parent in car accident discussed; death of a parent from overdose discussed

I actually ended up listening to the audiobook instead of reading the physical copy because it was easier. The audio was very well done and I liked the narrator. I am tempted to listen to more BDB books now.

Was this your firs BDB?! I loved the first 5/7? And then I just jumped off the bandwagon and haven’t gotten back on. I’m excited to hear about your BDB adventure!
