4 stars – It was really good

Cathal has never questioned Death’s directives since she gave him a second chance at life. When a mission leads him to a halfling who he can’t stop thinking about, he will do everything he can to protect her.

I was instantly sucked into this book. Cathal and Sasha were a great couple. They had passion, love, and lots of emotions. Sasha had a very interesting and tragic story. I do wish we had seen more of her magical abilities but it makes sense why we don’t.

Overall, this was a great book. Cathal and Sasha were great characters with interesting backstories. There wasn’t a huge progression in the overall story but I did enjoy what we got. I am really interested in seeing what is going to happen next with the Druids.

Trigger Warning:

  • Death of heroines family, described
  • Grieving
