4 stars – It was really good

Sonja Fong is director of the League’s research center in Mystic Bayou, a tiny Louisiana town that is full of supernatural creatures and humans. When she has to work with Dr. Will Carmody to set up a doctors office, she finds herself slowly falling for him the more time they spend together.

Sonja is a very efficient woman. It’s like she has the superpower of organization! I wish I could be that efficient. Her and Will start out on the wrong foot but they quickly start over and realize the attraction between them. Will has been away from Mystic Bayou for a long time. A lot has stayed the same in this little town but there has also been some major changes, especially with the rift.

I really enjoyed Sonja and Will’s relationship. Will did make a few mistakes during their relationship that was triggered by his past. They work out the problems and become a stronger couple because of it. Also I really loved Will’s brother Jon. He was such a sweet man and I hope we see more of him in future books.

Overall, this was a great addition to the series. I can’t wait to see more couples from this town and to see what is going to happen next with the rift.
