3 stars – I enjoyed it

Darcy Greenway has no time for love. She is a dedicated veterinarian and animals come first. But on a vacation in Scotland she steps under a stone arch and steps back in time 500 years. Stranded in the past Darcy finds herself drawn to her scottish savior, Quinn MacFarlane.

It’s been a long time since I read a historical romance and I need to get back into them. They were my first introduction to romance and I usually enjoy them all.  This book also gave me a nice break from all the paranormal I am reading. So back to the book.

The was a sweet romance that I enjoyed. Darcy was a strong willed but scared woman. I liked her.  She has been afraid to open her heart to anyone for years. Being stuck in the past means she can’t run from her feelings, even though she tires. Quinn was protective and determined to keep his family and land safe. Together these two have to work through their past scars to trust each other.

Overall, this was a sweet romance with a decent storyline, I plan on reading the next book in the near future,  maybe even the whole series.
