5 stars – I loved it!

I randomly got recommended this book by Amazon and decided to give it a chance after reading the blurb because I love a fake relationship romance and this one seemed like it would be fun. This book was such a wonderful surprise that I didn’t want to put it down.

This was a hilarious and over the top fake relationship story between a grumpy and emotionally stunted killer vampire and a happy, hyperactive art teacher werewolf. Do not go into this expecting a serious paranormal romance, because this is just over the top with its humor all the time. I was laughing so much at this book between the dog portraits, the napkins as clothes, and the awkward hand holding. It was all just so funny and wonderful.

Julian is a happy go lucky wolf with a hilarious sense of humor. He convinces Casimir, a grumpy and emotionally stunted vampire, to agree to a fake date to try and improve the relationship between their two races. I loved Julian and Casimir both. Julian is very laid back but tries to help everyone he can. Casimir is an ancient vampire who was raised to be emotionless and kill and has never been in a relationship before. He is constantly confused by Julian’s behavior and any relationship thing, like holding hands, and it was all so amusing and sweet at the same time. I just loved their relationship so much.

Everything about this story from the characters to the action was just the perfect blend of humor, story, and world building. I am going to be jumping into book two right away because I need more of this world now and these crazy vampires and werewolves. Also, I am definitely going to be reading more of Alice’s work now.
