Title: Dancer of Death
Author: Jordan L. Hawk
Series: SPECTR Series 2 #2
Pages: 112

After being sidelined from working in the field for a few weeks, John, Caleb, and Zahira finally have a new case. This one involves ballerinas being murdered by a creature called a vila, who kills by dancing. While they track down the demon, there is also a hint of another unknown entity in town that has begun to track Gray and Caleb.
This was a fascinating case because the creature was so interesting, especially since it gave Gray a challenge because it is so fast and flexible. I really love this series because we get such a wide range of creatures that all present unique challenges for the agents. This also introduced a potentially new threat that Gray can sense, but hasn’t been able to actually track yet because its so elusive. It is all very mysterious and makes me want to just devour these books to find out what will happen next.
In this one we also see that tensions are still high with the other SPECTR agents. John and Caleb are still benign harassed by their coworkers and their boss is just as bad. But, their new partner Zahira is wonderful. She is so accepting of Gray and everything he can do. I really love her and am so glad she is continuing to be John’s partner.
Overall, this was another fascinating case. I continue to love John, Caleb, and Gray and how their relationship has progressed. I am curious to see how their relationship will continue since there is a bit of tension right now because they are keeping some secrets. Anyways, I am diving right into the next one because I need to know what is going to happen next.
