Title: Eater of Lives
Author: Jordan L. Hawk
Series: SPECTR #4
Pages: 113

Caleb and John are dealing with a new case involving a wendigo and are running out of time before they can exorcize Gray. They are both struggling with their feelings on this, especially since they both don’t really want to kill Gray.
Well this one had me hooked to the story and really pulled on my emotions. John and Caleb’s relationship still is being worked out and we see some tension between them in this one because of it. They have less than two weeks before the 40 day time limit is up and the pressure is on. Caleb is struggling with his realization that while he wants his life back, he doesn’t want to hurt Gray, and if this hadn’t happened he would never have met John. John is struggling with his growing feelings for Gray and how he can exorcise him without killing him. I will say, John’s POV felt a bit lacking in this one and I really wanted to see more of how he was dealing with his feelings, but I still enjoyed what we got. Also, I really just want these two to talk to each other about their feelings for once.
The case with the wendigo was an interesting one that had a nice build up of action. Like I have said in previous reviews for this series, I like that we are seeing so many different kinds of creatures in this series. I am curious to see what they will deal with next and if we will see any change of SPECTRs views on demons during this series.
Overall, this was a fantastic and action packed addition to this series but I really wish John and Caleb would finally talk about their relationship. I am eager to see what will happen next after this cliffhanger of an ending.
