Title: Lore Olympus Vol. 9
Author: Rachel Smythe
Series: Lore Olympus #9
Pages: 432

This volume contains chapters 207-233 of the webtoon comic.
This volume picks up right where the previous volume left off. Persephone has rescued Hades and the underworld staff from being under the control of Kronos. Now she and Hades are trying to rebuild the Underworld and plan out their future together, but of course they run into some issues.
Hades and Persephone’s relationship continues to be so wonderful. I love how close these two are and that they really support each other in whatever way they can. I especially love that Hades lets Persephone have the experiences she has missed being under her mother’s thumb. He lets her get her own apartment and do normal things like go on dates. Their heartfelt conversations about the progression of their relationship and doing things on their own schedules was beautiful and perfect, especially after everything both of them have been thorough. I loved that there was no pressure for sex and it was all about building a healthy relationship between them. Also Hades’ proposal was beautiful and I loved everything about it!
Of course we see Demeter have issues with their relationship in this. I hated how she tried to force Persephone to give up everything that made her happy, just to appease her. But, I do love how Hestia tried to stop her and that Hades steps in to rescue her from her controlling and demanding nature. I do like that Persephone and Hades are finally standing up to Demeter. Her new plan to stop them from being together is terrible as well but I liked the loophole that Persephone found at the end of this volume and I can’t wait to see how it plays out.
There are also a lot of check ins with other characters in this. We see Hades and Thanatos rebuild their father/son bond and start moving past Thanatos’ betrayal. This also checks in with Eros and Psyche, Hypnos, Ares, and Minthe. I really enjoyed all the little check ins with everyone and seeing what has been happening for other people for the past ten years.
This volume ends with Hades and Persephone trying to get around Demeter’s newest embargo on their relationship. I am really excited for the next volume because I can’t wait to see these two get married. Also I am really curious to see how they deal with Kronos since he is now in charge of Tartus.
