4 stars – It was really good

It’s always a good day when a new Hailey Turner comes out! I loved the Infernal War Saga so I was so excited when I saw there was going to be a new novella set after the final book, and with new characters!

This follows the new ruler of Urova, Rodian, as he adjusts to his new life as king ruling over a whole country, and not just as mayor of a tiny town in the fjords. He finds himself seeking out help from a Minister named Arkadi, who is hiding that he is a Blade. The secret does stay secret long though because of course there is an assassination plot to deal with.

Their story was short, sweet, and intense from the beginning. I really wanted another chapter or two so we could see these two as an actual couple, but I still enjoyed what we got. Basically, I love that we got this little novella that is set after the events in the final book, and is focused on places that were not really shown in the series. I am hopeful for more novellas like this now. Also, I just really want to see more of these two.
