Title: A Villain for Christmas
Author: Alice Winters
Series: Vexing Villains #1
Pages: 286

Landon knew he shouldn’t have agreed to help his brother rob a bank but if he had then he wouldn’t have run into August, the city’s main superhero, and the man he has been crushing on since he was in middle school. As Landon spends time with August, he realizes how much he likes this version of August and how hard he is falling for him. But how will August react when he finds out he is a villain.
This was an enjoyable and amusing Christmas superhero story. Like all Winters’ books, this had over the top banter and silliness, with an action packed story line. Landon may be considered a villain but his ideal time is staying home and reading. He is lazy and never really wanted to be a villain, but he also doesn’t want to be a hero. He has also spent his life hiding how powerful of a telekinetic he is and we see him struggle with his power in this. I really liked Landon. He is the outcast who refuses to do what everyone expects of him but is really sweet and caring deep inside. Also I love how quickly he fell in love with his cat and started dressing her up.
August is the city’s biggest hero who is struggling with burnout. He is expected to be everywhere at once and no one really sees him as another other than a hero, except Landon. Landon is the first person to treat him like a person and act normal around him, well normal for Landon. I really like August and how he let his walls down with Landon, especially when it came to doing some badboy things.
These two had a very adorable relationship that was filled with a lot of ridiculous banter. They both have the hots for each other from the beginning but it does take some time before they actually commit to each other. I do love how hard Landon fell for August and how possessive he got, especially with the fans. So far, I am just really enjoying their relationship and look forward to seeing what will happen next for the since they are a couple and Landon is still considered a villain.
Overall, this was a very enjoyable superhero/villain romance with a dash of Christmas thrown in. I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more with these two. Also, Landon’s family are all ridiculous and I kind of want to see what stupid thing they will do next.
