Title: The Last Wizard’s Ball
Author: Charlaine Harris
Series: Gunnie Rose #6
Length: 7 hrs and 50 mins

This review is going to be a bit of a rant and have some spoilers. Unfortunately, I did not like this book. This book took everything that happened for the past five books and the relationship that was finally getting stronger, and basically destroyed it. For the final book in a series, this was extremely disappointing and I will never recommend this series because of it.
First off, Lizbeth acts like a completely different person at times in this. She sulks and mopes around when she finds out the others are keeping secrets behind her back. She walks away multiple times with hurt feelings instead of finding out what they are hiding. What happened to the Lizbeth that never backed down and stood up for herself.
Lizbeth and Eli’s relationship seems like it’s better in the beginning but it quickly becomes apparent that Eli is hiding things again. So basically all the progress from the previous book is again gone. Lizbeth finally makes an ultimatum to Eli and decides to separate from him. It was so fucking disappointing to read six books of a series and the author decide to break the couple up instead of having him actually fight for the woman he loves. I didn’t read six books with a rocky relationship for them to actually walk away, I was expecting Eli to get his shit together and actually work with Lizbeth to find their HEA. Marriages aren’t easy and they take work, but these two didn’t even make an effort in this to try it felt like.
Another issue with the relationship, for the last 10% of the book we have another man courting Lizbeth and she allows it, then moves to him as soon as she is told she was declared dead. She doesn’t even wait to see if Eli will come to his senses and return to make their marriage work, she just moves on, which I hated.
Basically, this book was one of the most disappointing endings of a series I have ever read. I hate that such an interesting world and characters are having such an unfulfilling ending. I can’t even enjoy the Felicia parts of this because of how much of a train wreck this was with Eli and Lizbeth.
