Title: Ghost of Truth
Author: Alice Winters
Series: Medium Trouble #2
Pages: 338

Hiro and Maddox have another case and this one ends up being something neither of them have dealt with before. The victim’s ghost is gone but other ghosts have become hostile and are trying to prevent Hiro from investigating what is happening in this small town. Will they be able to figure it out before another person dies?
Hiro and Maddox’s relationship continues to progress in this one. We see how they lean on each other and work together to overcome obstacles. I really have enjoyed the progression of Maddox’s character from grumpy and antisocial detective to a believer who will do anything to protect Hiro. I just really love Maddox’s obsession with him and how protective he is of Hiro, especially to his coworkers. Hiro continues to be an amusing and headstrong man who doesn’t always think when it comes to helping others. His power has steadily grown stronger and we see how that power is now affecting ghosts. It will be interesting to see if he can start to control his abilities better and stop ghosts from doing things in the future.
The murder mystery in this one was not as interesting as the previous one for me. I enjoyed it but something about this string of murders just didn’t captivate me as much as the previous book. I do like that we are learning more about what ghosts can do and how they can affect humans.
Overall, I enjoyed this one and look forward to reading the next one. Hiro and Maddox make a good team and I can’t wait to see what they end up tackling next.
