Title: Gods and Ends
Author: Devon Monk
Series: Ordinary Magic #3
Length: 6 hours and 31 mins

This book starts the day after the previous book ends. Delaney is coming to terms with the fact that she was attacked and it makes her even more determined to bring down Lavius. While I did enjoy this story, it was a bit different from the previous books because it features minimal Gods, instead it focuses on the vampires, werewolves, and a demon.
Delaney does some very reckless things in this one all to try and bring down their enemy. While it got the outcome they needed, I didn’t love how reckless she was. She has always been the rule-following sister who is determined to protect her family, but we see her just ignore that and make a very reckless and dangerous deal. I didn’t love that about her in this one. I wanted the smart and capable woman who mostly thought things out, like in the previous ones.
The battle to find and stop the enemy vampire Lavius was interesting for the most part. He was a powerful and ruthless villain, which I enjoyed. I was surprised by the demon angle during the hunt and the surprise twist at the end with it. While I did like the fight overall, it felt very rushed and honestly, I thought Lavius was stopped pretty quickly. My other issue with this book was the lack of Godly involvement. After the previous books, I really thought the gods were going to be helping with this but they had minimal involvement in the story, mainly just Than at the end.
But, even with all my complaints, I still enjoyed this book overall. Delaney and the cases she has to deal with are always interesting and enjoyable. Also this is a fascinating magical town that I love learning more about with each book. I can’t wait to see what will happen in the next book after what happened at the end of this book.
