Title: Love is Trash in Hallow’s Cove
Author: Emily Antoinette
Series: Hallow’s Cove #3
Pages: 161

After a string of awful relationships and cheating exes, Hayley heads to Hallow’s Cove in the hopes of finding a monster mate who will respect her and her quirkiness. She quickly realizes that finding a mate isn’t as easy as she was expecting. Everything changes though when she starts hanging out with her shifter neighbor Jake.
This was a very cute and sweet story about finding love, acceptance, and just being yourself. While I didn’t love how desperate for a partner Hayley was in the very beginning of this book, I did like her a lot after she started dating Jake. She was a woman who wasn’t afraid to embrace her weirdness and had some very amusing ideas for dates.
Jake is a raccoon shifter who runs a store called Trash to Treasure. Jake was a quirky and fun guy who knows that everyone thinks he is weird because he likes to salvage things, and dumpster dive in his raccoon form. I loved Jake, and his shifter side Beans, and how hard they tried to woo Hayley without revealing what he is.
Hayley and Jake’s relationship is fast paced and very sweet. Jake falls hard and fast for Hayley because she is his mate but he has to take his time wooing Hayley since she has given up on finding a mate. I really enjoyed their relationship, especially since they both admit they are weirdos and lean into that. There aren’t normal dates in this and I love that they did what would be fun for them and not the stereotypical date ideas. Also, I appreciated that the reveal of Jake’s shifter side didn’t end up being a source of tension in their relationship, but instead pushed them closer.
Overall, this was another enjoyable Hallow’s Cove romance. I am really enjoying this small town and look forward to reading more books in this series.
