Title: Desert Heart
Author: Anna Lowe
Series: The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch #4
Pages: 202

As the daughter of the retired alpha, Tina Hawthorne lives to help her pack. She never was tempted to throw caution to the wind, except with Rick Rivera. Her first love is back and all grown up, and more determined than ever to win Tina over.
This was an enjoyable second chance romance. Tina and Rick have loved each other since they were teenagers but Tina refused to marry him twice or go with him when his baseball career took off. She knew she couldn’t leave her pack. Now seven years later they are getting a second chance. I enjoyed Tina and Rick’s story a lot more than some of the previous ones. These two had a lot of chemistry and I enjoyed how hard Rick fought for Tina. Also the 20 day rule was very interesting and a great life motto.
This story introduced new information on the change to shifter for mates as well. Apparently women rarely successfully turn their partners, which is why Tina is so afraid to continue their relationship. This is interesting but also kinda sucks. But this shifter is already male centered so I am not totally surprised that the female shifters can’t turn people successful either.
The villain in this was interesting because demons hadn’t been mentioned before. I think it was an interesting twist and enjoyed seeing the different shifters work together to bring it down. I was expecting a bit more info on how it was unleashed but it’s fine.
Overall, this was an enjoyable second chance romance. I liked these two a lot and look forward to seeing their happy future in the rest of the series.
