The year is almost halfway over and so I thought it was a good time to share my five star reads. While I have already read over 150 books, I was surprised by how few I rated 5 stars. Hopefully the second half of the year will have more five stars for me.
I have split this into three categories: romance, graphics, and nonfiction.
Romance

I am very surprised I didn’t have more five star romance books this year. But, I have given the majority of my books 4 stars so still a pretty good reading year.
- Vacationing with the Vampire in Hallow’s Cove by Lyonne Riley
- Only Cold Depths by Jennifer Estep
- Untethering Dark by Desirée M. Niccoli
- Passing Through Purgatory by Nik Knight
- Married to the Alien Mountain Man by Ursa Dax
Graphics

I have not read as many graphics this years as I did last year, but the ones I have read have all been pretty good. These are the few I gave five stars to.
- Blades of Furry, Vol. 1 by Emily Erdos
- Tokyo Fears Rhapsody, Vol. 1 by Akira Sugito
- Kaiju No. 8, Vol. 14 by Naoya Matsumoto
- Kaiju No. 8, Vol. 15 by Naoya Matsumoto
Nonfiction

I have only read 12 nonfiction books this year and most of those ended up being 3 and 4 star reads. These three are the only five star reads and I am still frequently think about two of them.
- The Weird and Wonderful World of Bats: Demystifying these Often Misunderstood Creatures by Alyson Brokaw
- Jesus and John Wayne: How White Evangelicals Corrupted a Faith and Fractured a Nation by Kristin DuMez Kobes
- Story of a Murder: The Wives, The Mistress, and Dr. Crippen by Hallie Rubenhold
I like the covers for Kaiju No. 8, so I read what it’s about and I think I would like this series. Adding to my TBR! 🙂
