Title: Basil and Oregano
Author: Melissa Capriglione
Pages: 232

This was a wonderful story. This takes place at the Porta Bella Magiculinary Academy that teaches students how to create meals with magic and its a very exclusive academy. We have Basil who is at the school on a scholarship that requires getting top student in exams at least twice to have tuition covered and Arabella Oregano who is from a wealthy family and is the new student.
Basil and Arabella’s story was very cute and sweet. These two get to know each other over the semester and start crushing early. They have to deal with the pressure to be top student, controlling parents, and bullying from other students. I really enjoyed these two’s relationship and the whole concept of magic being used to create gourmet food. Also I just loved how wonderfully queer this world was.
My only real complaint about the progression of this story was that there were quite a few time skips. Some of them felt a bit abrupt and like the characters should have had more development or progression in class in between.
