Red-Haired Ash Reads

This novella was interesting because while it technically is a part of the Elder Races series it can be read as a complete standalone because this takes place in the land of Ys, which is apparently a separate world connected to Earth, like the Other lands. So there are brief references to the Elder Race creatures and Earth, but it doesn’t play any part in this story. 

Wulfgar Hahn, the Wolf of Braugne, has come to Camaeline Abby to seek supplies and try to sway them to his side of the war. He convinces them to provide a liaison with his army in the hopes he can sway them to his side. Instead he finds himself falling for the liaison, Lily. 

Lily has been seeing visions of the future for years and knows Wulf is a part of it. While at first she tries to keep her distance from Wulf, she quickly realizes he is an honorable man and that he is the one from her visions. Lily and Wulf had instant attraction and chemistry. Wulf falls hard for Lily and is protective of her from the very beginning. I really enjoyed how he courted her and how far he went to spend time with her. 

Overall, this was an enjoyable story but I wish it had tied into the rest of the series a little more. Also I was a bit surprised that this ended before the conclusion of the war ended and the other Lord never came into the picture.
