Title: Storm Front
Author: Jim Butcher
Series: The Dresden Files #1
Pages: 332

It’s been over ten years since I last read this series and I remember devouring it over the course of two weeks. I decided to start rereading this series this year so I can review the books and to catch up with the new releases.
Harry Dresden is a wizard for hire. He finds lost objects, does paranormal investigations and consulting. He doesn’t do love potions, parties, or other entertainment. Harry is a fascinating man who is just trying to make it as a wizard in Chicago. He works for the police as a consultant sometimes and other times does whatever jobs come his way. When the police ask him to explain how a murder happened, he finds himself running around town hunting an unknown wizard who is killing people at a distance.
Like the first time I read this book, I was hooked to Harry’s investigation and this world of paranormal creatures that are somewhat hidden from the humans. Harry’s investigation to find the magic using killer was entertaining and easy to follow, even if it wasn’t always obvious who was behind what. I really love a good murder mystery especially when it’s part of a paranormal world.
Overall, this was a fantastic start to a series. I loved Harry, Officer Murphy and all the other side characters. I really can’t wait to jump into the next book to see what will happen next for Harry and if he can mend some of the fences he broke in this one.
TW: graphic depictions of death; drugs and drug use discussed; love potion used unintentionally;

So nice to see a review of the 1st book in the series! I was obsessed with the series for a good long while (and still can’t wait for there to be a new book!)
