Title: Sweet Vengeance
Author: Viano Oniomoh
Series: Sweet Demons #1
Pages: 206

Joy makes a deal with a demon to help kill the man who ruined her life. Malachi needs a deal with a human so he can remain in the mortal realm. This seems like the perfect match for both of them, but neither expected their feelings to come into play when they initially made the deal.
This was a wonderful and emotional story about female vengeance, power, and love. When I initially picked up this book, I didn’t know anything about it outside it was a demon romance. But this was a fascinating book that had queer and fat representation, a female Dom, female rage and vengeance, the use of Good Boy, and a little bit of pegging.
While this was a wonderful romance, it does deal with the heavy topic of rape throughout the book. Joy was raped by her coworker and is now determined to get her vengeance on him. There is also discussion of her best friend being raped as a child by a relative and dealing with victim blaming. While this story does discuss a heavy topic, I think the author did a wonderful job at balancing the vengeance for what happened to Joy and the new love growing between her and Malachi.
The romance between Malachi and Joy was so sweet and steamy. It takes them a while to actually be a couple because they both have trauma they are dealing with, but once they go all in, it was so good. I also liked that Joy knew she needed to get her life straightened out and find herself again before committing fully to Malachi.
Overall, this was a wonderful and steamy romance. I really enjoyed the writing and the characters. I will definitely be reading book two now.
