2 stars – it was ok

One by one, Therese has watched her friend fall for the alien warriors and she is happy for them. But she also can’t help feeling jealous because she really wants a mate too. All she has ever wanted is a loving partner so she can start building the family of her dreams, but she doesn’t expect that partner to be an enemy Gahan.

I’ll be honest, while Theresa has been a background character that has popped up a few times in this series, I didn’t really feel an urge to get to know her. After reading this story I found her to just be an ok character who got a bit annoying at times. She constantly is thinking or talking about pregnancy and babies, which I know is her dream, but I found it to be annoying after the first time it was mentioned.

Baldor was a man who has experienced loss and is determined to protect Therese. Because of this he agrees to ally himself with the others, even though he attacked them. I found Baldor to be just ok. I liked how protective and sweet he was with Therese, but I also found him to be a bit boring. While their relationship was fine overall, I think I just wasn’t interested in either of these characters and got a bit bored.

While I didn’t love this, I am interested in seeing what will happen next with the last tribe and with the potential upcoming battle against the human military.

TW: death of a mate discussed; animal injuries; violence, blood, and injuries; pregnancy and vomiting;
