Title: Alien Enemy
Author: Ursa Dax
Series: Fated Mates of the Sea Sand Warlords #2
Pages: 263

As the only military survivor, Chapman is now the de facto leader and is struggling to keep the women safe since she can’t communicate with the aliens. But she is also dealing with her attraction to the enemy leader who captured them.
While I was interested in seeing how Chapman’s story went, I will stay. I am a bit disappointed in it. This jumps back in time and tells the whole attack and the following events from Chapman’s POV, which I didn’t mind, but that was basically the whole story. I appreciated this because we got to see the growth of Chapman’s character but it was also disappointing because we get very little time as Fallo and Chapman as an actual couple. In the last 10% of the book, Chapman finally learns the language, finds out she is Fallo’s mate and consummates it, but we get no real time with them as a couple, which was very disappointing for me.
My other complaint was about Fallo. He is just always angry and wanting to fight. That is his whole personality and we see little outside of that. I can understand some of why he is so protective and angry after learning his backstory, but I was expecting more from his character than just anger.
Overall, this was just ok for me. I plan on continuing the story to see what happens now that they will be building a human settlement. I just hope I like the next one better.
