Title: Married to the Alien Cowboy
Author: Ursa Dax
Series: Cowboy Colony Mail-Order Brides #1
Pages: 241

In debt and on the run from a crime lord whose nose she broke, Cherry takes the first ticket off-world that comes her way: an all expense paid, one-way trip to an isolated ranching outpost where she has to marry an alien cowboy. Cherry is determined to prove she can be a good rancher wife, but the more she gets to know Silar the more she realizes she wants to stay for him.
After reading the blurb for this book I instantly started reading it and was instantly hooked on Cherry and Silar’s story. This is a mail-order bride/ marriage of convenience romance. Silar is a criminal living in a penal colony when he finds out he has the chance to be a part of a bridal program. He accepts and instantly falls hard for his new bride, Cherry. I loved seeing Silar struggle with his emotions and attraction towards Cherry. He doesn’t know that what he is feeling is normal and tries to hide it but that doesn’t last long. Silar was protective, sweet, and just a great character and partner for Cherry.
“I do not care why you came here. I do not care if you lied, cheated, or stole your way into this world. I do not care what you were running from”….“All I care about is that, if you are running, I’m the one you run to.”
Cherry is a woman who finds herself in a dangerous situation and hopes for a better future in this mail order bride program. She is instantly attracted to Silar and starts developing feelings quickly, but is afraid of offending him since she knows nothing about his culture. I liked Cherry a lot, especially since she was so accepting of Silar’s past.
Silar and Cherry’s relationship was very sweet. These two struggled with getting closer to each other at first due to cultural differences and fear of rejection, but once they started talking things quickly progressed. I really enjoyed their relationship and how protective they were of each other.
Overall, this was a great alien romance and I am jumping right into book two. This was my first Ursa Dax book but it definitely won’t be my last!
