3 stars – I liked it

Ecco’s life has been a whirlwind since her debut album dropped, but not all of it is good. With fame comes danger and she now has a stalker which leads to her manager hiring a bodyguard for her. Graeme is a hunky gargoyle who is all business, but that changes the more time they spend together.

Ecco and Graeme’s story was an enjoyable grumpy/sunshine, bodyguard romance. Ecco has finally achieved her dream but she is realizing that its not everything she was expecting. Between the stalker and realizing how much she misses her hometown, she has a lot to work through while snowed in at Elderberry Falls. Ecco was a sweet woman who always sees the bright side of things. She was very energetic with things she is passionate about. She teaches Graeme how to let himself relax a little and feel emotions for once.

Graeme is a protective gargoyle who is good at being a bodyguard. He is very closed off at first because that is the way he was brought up but he quickly lets that wall down after spending time with Ecco. Ecco brings emotions and color back into his life and he realizes how unhappy he is with his clan’s plan for his future. I liked that Graeme was a protective guy who learned to open up some. Though I do think he took way too long to decide what he was going to do with his future in his gargoyle clan after he realized the truth.

Ecco and Graeme have a very sweet relationship that is supposed to be just a fling while Graeme is her bodyguard, but that quickly changes. I enjoyed seeing them fall hard for each other while snowed in at Elderberry Falls. White I don’t love third act breakups, I can understand why this one was a bit necessary for them to figure out the futures they really wanted.

Overall, this was another great couple and another enjoyable Elderberry Falls book. My only real complaint was that the stalker situation was a bit anticlimactic when it was revealed.

TW: stalking; death of parents mentioned;
