3 stars – I liked it

Hope has recently moved to the small town of Whiskey River and when she meets Cash she feels instantly safe. But while the life they are building together is going smoothly, they find that someone has been watching them.

Like the previous books, this was an enjoyable instant love romance. Cole has recently lost his brother and now has to do things on his own, like go grocery shopping for the first time. We see Cole step out of his comfort zone and really start getting to know the town and become a better friend to the guys and his other neighbor. Hope is a strong and capable woman who had a terrible childhood. She struggled to get away from her childhood and now is a successful book editor. Cole and Hope had an instant love relationship that was fast paced and sweet. Hope quickly takes to living on the mountain and is energetic to learn about the way of life.

Like the previous book, we also got Emelie’s POV for a chapter or two, which I think is fine but it did again cause some timeline errors. I think this book could have used another edit because there were also issues with Jana, Hope’s friend, and Jenna, Phoenix’s wife, being confused with each other. Also even when they weren’t being mixed up, their names were just too similar and it became hard to remember who was who.

Overall, this was another instant love romance that was enjoyable but the editing issues did cause me to not enjoy it as much. I will be continuing the series just to see the other men fall in love though.

TW: recent death of sibling from cancer; child neglect mentioned; mother with drug addiction; on page hunting; kidnapping;
