Title: Gory Details: Adventures from the Dark Side of Science
Author: Erika Engelhaupt
Narrator: Mari Weiss
Length: 8 hours and 33 min

This was a fascinating investigation into a variety of strange, gross, and morbid things about our bodies and the universe. Each chapter explores a different topic making it extremely easy to pick and choose what you want to learn about, or skip over if you are squeamish about some things.
Engelhaupt does a wonderful job at presenting these somewhat gross and sometimes taboo topics in very informative and fun ways that made learning about all these different things very enjoyable. I learned a lot of fascinating things about cockroaches, maggots, slugs, fecal transplants, misophonia, and so much more.
If you are interested in learning about gory science or some more morbid topics but don’t really know where to start, I would highly recommend this book. It was easy to read, amusing, and extremely easy to skip sections that may be too much for you, so all around a great adventure book in science.
