3 stars – I liked it

This was a cute and short post-apocalyptic story featuring the demon Prince Beelzebub, his assistant Thief, and a human Sheriff Rao, searching the barren wasteland for the long lost phantom lake because water is greedily controlled by the king.

This was a great standalone story about humans and demons struggling to survive and a few unlikely heroes finding the truth behind the droughts. Beelzebub, Thief, and Roa were all pretty ok characters but of the three, Roa had the most backstory and personality. I was really hoping we would get more background on Beelzebub himself but he mainly just fights.

Overall, I enjoyed this story about Beelzebub, Roa, and Thief. It was an enjoyable post-apocalyptic setting with good triumphing over evil and had some whimsical looking characters. If you are looking for a standalone manga, I recommend picking this one up.
