3 stars – I liked it

This book takes place about a week after the events in the previous book. Colin and Evan’s relationship is still very new and they are still trying to figure out who was the true mastermind behind the previous plot. But now they are dealing with a new issue, someone is leaking videos of paranormals to the news and they have to figure out a way to stop it.

Evan and Colin’s relationship continues with feelings finally being admitted in this but sadly, very little actual conversations about their relationship. The conversations between these two were almost all about the case and it is making it harder to really get to know Colin, especially since we don’t have his POV. I was expecting a bit more from their relationship but I am still enjoying their story so far.

This book was extremely emotional and trauma filled. I was not expecting such a heavy book and it did make it a little harder to enjoy the story. That said, I still enjoyed it overall, I just wish some things had not happened because I felt it was a bit much for the author to put these characters through, but that is just my personal opinion.

Overall, this book was unexpectedly heavy but I am still enjoying Evan and Colin’s story. I am very interested in seeing what happens next after this ending.

CW: on page violent and unexpected death of a family member; grief: Evan struggles with episodes of depression;
