3 stars – I liked it

When Elara opens a coffee shop in the small town of Fairhaven Falls, the last thing she expects is to fall into a relationship with the grumpy Orc baker next door. But while they have both been burned in the past, they can’t seem to keep away from each other.

This was a short and sweet grumpy/sunshine paranormal romance. Fairhaven Falls is a small town that is Other than human and they are trying to bring in more humans, which is how Elara got her new business. I really like the idea of this world of Others (paranormals) and humans living in harmony and just going about their lives. I wish  the world had been expanded on a bit more in this book but maybe it will grow as the series goes on.

Elara and Grondar had an instant attraction that they both were fighting because of their past experiences. Grondar was an extremely grumpy orc baker who I really liked. He was so gruff and protective but also very sweet and kind once he opened up to Elara. I enjoyed their quick paced relationship and was surprised by how possessive and steamy it was. Also, the cock piercings and tattoos were unexpected.

Overall, this was an enjoyable and fun paranormal romance. I plan on reading more of this series now because this seems like an interesting town and world. I also really liked the side characters who were introduced in this so I would love to see more of them.
