Title: Back in Black
Author: Julie Ann Walker
Series: Black Knights Inc: Reloaded #1
Pages: 345

The Black Knight Inc boys are back and are ready for more dangerous missions! When FBI Agent Grace Beachum finds herself being framed for her partner’s murder and being targeted by a Russian assassin she calls the only man who might be able to save her, BKI operative Hunter Jackson. It may have been three years since they last saw each other but their attraction hasn’t faded and now they can’t ignore it.
This book introduces us to two members of the new Black Knight Inc. black ops group, Hunter Jackson and Samuel Haywood. This book focuses on Hunter but we do get to see a few chapters about Sam, who will be the focus of the next book. Hunter is a quiet and closed off member of BKI. His childhood was terrible and it caused him to keep people at a distance but around Grace we see him tearing down those boundaries and letting her see the real Hunter. Hunter was a character that I instantly liked and I think he was a great introduction for this new spin-off series.
Grace was a sassy, smart, and capable woman who I never knew what was going to say. She was definitely a unique character who kept me guessing and I liked her a lot. Grace and Hunter’s relationship was intense and fast paced. The attraction they felt for each other three years before has exploded and now they can’t keep their hands off each other. This was a fast paced relationship that was filled with a lot of emotion and danger.
The danger in this one revolves around Russian propaganda and their influence on the US. It was a very interesting topic because it is something that happens in real life. It will be interesting to see what happens next with Kerebus and this propaganda, which I assume will be the focus of the next book since Sam and Hannah were the ones who dealt with Kerebus.
Overall, this was a great start to a spin-off series. While we only got to meet two of the men of the new BKI I still liked them and look forward to getting to know them more. Also I love that we get to see the older couples helping the men and can’t wait to see how their lives have changed.
